Welcome to Carnevale!
You are probably wondering why I have taken so long to write about Venice at Carnevale, especially since I promised last week that I would write about it shortly. Don't worry, I hadn't forgotten about it, I was honestly just having trouble finding the right words to describe my experiences there. My short weekend trip was full of contradicting emotions, unmet expectations and most importantly beautiful realities. My one long day there was full of little sleep, breathtaking sites, good food, frustrations, stress, lots of laughter, and even a little bit of dancing. Rather than writing about the day, I figured I would let you see my day through some of the many pictures that I took. You know what they say, when words fail.. pictures tell A THOUSAND words... so you better get reading, you've got a lot of words a head!

The Gondola Ride~
| The gondola ride, as you will probably be able to tell from the following pics was my favorite part of the day. There are no words to describe how beautiful the city was. It was so nice to just sit and enjoy the beauty on the tranquil, backwater canals of the city. |

| Kelsay, Me, Virginia, and Shaily (Marina's taking the picture) enjoying our lovely gondola ride |
~Masks and Adults playing dress up~
| The Lady who made my mask, holding my mask! |
| I tried to take a picture of a Medusa mask at night, it didn't turn out so well (possibly because of her snake eyes?) but I loved the effect that it made anyways |
| I shoudn't have been, but I was surprised to see a Caesar mask hanging in a display window of a mask shop. Unfortunately, I never saw anyone dressed up as Caesar! |
| Virginia decided to get a mask painted onto her face... I enjoyed being the official photographer for the whole process and thought that the girl who did it, an art student at a university in Venice, did a beautiful Job! |
*Nighttime*
| Our hotel room- Man... did I LOVE that bed! |
| Me and the Birthday girl! |
| The train ride into the carnevale celegrations! |
| All of us girls out enjoying Carnevale |
If you made it this far, thanks for sticking it out, I hope you enjoyed the pics- but take note, Venice is even more beautiful in real life!
